The Breastfeeding Project

Even though we've come a long way in normalising breastfeeding, it's unfortunate that there's still a stigma attached to it.

This project began in 2021 with the aim to educate, support mothers, normalise and show the soft, beautiful side of breastfeeding. Since it began, Instagram has now lifted the ban on images showing breastfeeding (this was one of the major issues that I, as a motherhood photographer, experience when sharing my art).

At the heart of this project lies a desire to shed light on the normalisation of breastfeeding in photography. This project captures the beauty of it and presenting breastfeeding not just as a biological act but as a symphony of love, bonding, and empowerment.

Local mothers share their stories through my lens, showcasing their vulnerability, their strength, and their unbreakable bonds with their children. The project isn't just about imagery; it's about normalising breastfeeding in a society that sometimes averts its gaze from this natural act. Through these photographs, I strive to remove stigmas and celebrate the authenticity of motherhood. Each image tells a tale of courage, as mothers unapologetically embrace their roles while redefining societal norms.

My lens becomes a storyteller, weaving narratives of mothers who embrace this journey with grace and determination.

The Breastfeeding Project

(2021- ongoing)

This ongoing project of mine is inviting women to be photographed feeding their babies/children. It helps support the breastfeeding community by normalising it as well as pointing out the outdated and misogynistic societal flaws associated with it.
