I've been back shooting now for around 3 weeks. 3 weeks of studio bliss, bumps, babies, sunsets and squidges.
The main realisation that I've had is that I TRULY love photography. I have done so many different jobs before finding this career and I really cannot imagine not doing this. During lockdown I barely took any photos, the studio was being used for storage whilst our house renovations took over, our actual house was so crazy with building work (we could only live in half of the house) that I didn't want to take any photos and in all honesty I was really enjoying our family time.
So the craziness began at the end of June with some family mini sessions and a couple of maternity sessions. Then I eased into reopening the studio with a friends baby. Then a few days later with another baby, and then a newborn... and now suddenly I am back to the (new) normal- masks, disinfection and a constant flow of sessions. I am so, so busy (seriously, please get in touch ASAP as I am booking up fast to the end of the year already) but also so happy to be back, how many people can say that about their job? I feel like myself again, camera in hand, documenting the most beautiful little people and their incredibly strong, wonderful parents who have had to go through lockdown, pregnancy and birth with minimal support.
Here are a few of my sessions. Emotional, natural and minimalistic photography.
