Hopefully you have all been well and able to make the most of this time off. I have lovely spending time with my family, I've managed to do quite a few things that I never have time for usually and I will be missing this.
However I adore my job. I love my business. I will need to get back to it soon.
The decision for this has been an incredibly tricky one. Businesses everywhere, not only mine, are left to make their own minds up about whether it is safe. For me, this is not quite yet. I'm not sending my children into childcare yet, I'm reluctantly watching my partner have his first day in work tomorrow and I am nervous about not just coronavirus but now also Kawasaki disease and the fact the Rose has a viral-induced wheeze so I am ignoring both sides of the argument and I am using common sense to make my own decision about this to keep my family and my customers safe at all times without them having to miss out on their children's milestones.
My plan has always been to play it by ear and see where we are after lockdown. Lockdown isn't quite over but a plan is starting to form for me...
• I am now taking bookings from mid-late June and onwards for sitters and families (excluding cake smashes). These are with the understanding that they are subject to being rescheduled if guidelines change.
• Summer family shoots will go ahead outdoors as usual from June onwards (again, with the same understanding). I am unsure about my annual lavender minis as this will rely on the lavender fields opening and what their own protocols are.
• I will not be booking in any newborns until July to minimise use of the studio and I will only be taking one studio booking a week so that there is plenty of time between sessions for it to be disinfected.
• As always, post-shoot viewings will remain over the internet via an online gallery and in the comfort of your own home.
I hope to see you soon,
