Sometimes I wonder how Andy (my fiancé) puts up with me.
• We renovated the newborn studio- great! I suggest beautiful dark oak floors, which, obviously he is onboard with because they are stunning.
• . Then I insist on buying white vinyl to cover up the floor so I can have all-white, stunningly minimalistic newborn, maternity and family photos. Ok. Annoying, but he can see where I am coming from.
• I then NEED a bed. The studio is only small however so it actually needs to be a sofabed. And white (although annoyingly it is cream). And from Made.com. Andy hates it, humours me but silently curses me. I love my new toy, the photos are lovely- I get my maternity ladies chilling out on there, my families cuddling on there and my babies playing on there.
• A couple of weeks ago I went to Wickes. I found their darkest green paint and the next day I painted half of the studio green.
The illogical, light sucking, colour cast reflecting DARK GREEN. Of all the spur of the moment ideas I have had this one takes the biscuit.
But it's bloody lovely. Pure genius move from me. It doesn't exactly go with the minimalist look of things, especially not once I have packed that end of the room with the papasan chair (another genius move), all the house plants in the world and my poor subjects. I will repeat again, it is bloody lovely.
(For any photographer's reading this, there is no colour cast either! That end of the room gets no direct light from the windows so I've been incredibly lucky).
